Flynn Energy Raises $11,050 for Local Girl

Towanda, PA – Flynn Energy recently presented Sarah Evans with a check for $11,050 from proceeds of Flynn Energy’s Annual Golf Tournament. Sarah has been plagued by a disease called “primary scoliosis colingitis”, which has affects her liver. She has been terribly ill for several years and just recently received a transplant from one of her best friends. The company presented Sarah and her family with the donation on June 14th.

“It’s truly remarkable what our golf tournament does. We’ve gotten better results each year, and this is certainly no different. Sarah is a good young lady with a very bright future ahead of her. For us to be able to raise $11,050 for her makes all the hard work worth it,” EJ Flynn remarked. “We’re honored to have a hand in helping her recovery.”

Flynn checked in to get an update on Sarah’s recent progress to see how the transplant went. Both girls were up and walking around two days after the procedure, and Sarah’s donor and lifelong friend Marissa Booth went home four days later and is recovering well. The two girls have been best friends since they were eight years old. Marissa fought hard to be the the donor after nearly being ruled out as a potential donor numerous times.

“Marissa was the first to step up and it is a true miracle that everything could, and did come together like it did and so quickly. God is watching over my girl and now I have another daughter in Marissa.” Bill Evans (Sarah’s father) said.

Incredible journeys like Sarah’s make the participation in the Flynn Golf Tournament unlike any other.

“This year we reached full tournament capacity within days of announcing the date.” Flynn said, Once again it was a huge success, and we are very humbled by the support and turnout we get for it every year. We could not do it without the support of so many people’s efforts.”
